The bachelor's thesis has been written on behalf of NCC. In recent years, NCC has workedactively to improve and develop the management system in the company through a project theyhave called LOCE. Through the project, five different initiatives have been prepared whichwill contribute to increased efficiency in the design processes, increased productivity inproduction and increased experience transfer and competence sharing within the company. Tosurvey the challenges of introducing new initiatives, our research question asks "How toimplement process improvement initiatives in a construction company to make operationsmore efficient?". A sub-goal was formed to keep the focus on NCC's project; "Creating animplementation strategy for the specific initiatives from the LOCE project".
To answer the research question, the theory of LPS, transfer of experience, motivation, implementation, pilot project and technological acceptance model is described. All theinitiatives are explained and a survey was created and sent out to the employees of NCC. Thisis to form a better picture of which views are important to the employees when implementingthe initiatives from LOCE. NCC has previously carried out three surveys which are mentionedand some points extracted. A dive is made into another large contractor and how they work.
The main findings in the thesis show that user-friendliness, achieved utility value during useand easy accessibility are important for the employees to adopt the five different initiatives. The biggest challenges with each individual initiative are presented and variousimplementation measures are discussed.
The bachelor's thesis resulted in an answer to the problem with a step plan that can be used forthe implementation of new initiatives in larger construction companies. The step plan consistsof five points: requirements from management, routines, training, pilot project and follow-up.The sub-goal was answered based on the general step plan, but with implementation strategiesthat NCC can use to implement each of the initiatives from the LOCE project. These measuresand the step plan were formed based on the theory, the results of the survey and the measuresmentioned in the discussion chapter
