This bachelor's thesis explores the digitization of user records in a digitization project at NAV Møre og Romsdal, focusing on ensuring authenticity, reliability, integrity, and usability (APIA) in the digitization process. By applying theory from archival science and through empirical observations and discussions, the thesis analyzes how digitization affects the organization's daily work and how the APIA principles are implemented and followed in practice.Digitization contributes to increased accessibility and efficiency in archival work, but also brings new requirements for handling conversion and digital preservation of records. The APIA principles play a central role in the digitization process, serving as guidelines to ensure quality and integrity in archival work. The thesis emphasizes the importance of ensuring the APIA principles in the digitization process to preserve archival material for the future. With this, I hope the thesis contributes to further research and practice in archival work and digitization, aiming to strengthen archival management in the public sector.
