Filmens blikk i fortellinger om skeiv kjærlighet

Abstract

I denne bacheloroppgaven vil jeg se nærmere på hvordan skeiv kjærlighet blir fremstilt på film. Jeg vil bruke filmene Portrett av en kvinne i flammer (2019) og Moonlight (2016) som eksempler. Gjennom å analysere spesifikke scener i filmene, vil jeg gjøre rede for blikket som er brukt og hvordan homofile forhold blir tematisert. Som bakgrunn og teoretiske grunnlag har jeg hentet stoff fra filmhistorien: “Coming out to the mainstream; New queer cinema in the 21st century”, “The Celluloid Closet” og Laura Mulvey´s teori om det mannlige blikket fra “Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema”.

In this bachelor's thesis, I will take a closer look at the films Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019) and Moonlight (2016) and how the films show queer love. By analysing specific scenes in the films, I will explain the gaze that is used and how gay relationships are thematized. As a background and theoretical basis, I have taken material from film history: “Coming out to the mainstream; New queer cinema in the 21st century”, “The Celluloid Closet” and Laura Mulvey's theory about the male gaze from “Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema”.
