identifisert fem gjennomgående tema i analysen. 1) Betydningen av de voksnes barnesyn,
2) maktforhold og de voksnes definisjonsmakt, 3) barnehagemiljøets betydning, 4)
barnehagepersonalets faglige kompetanse og 5) barnehagepersonalets komplekse
dilemmaer.
medvirke i barnehagen.
beskrivelser. I denne studien fremstår barnas egen stemme marginalisert. Funnene
Videre viser resultatene behov for mer
behov i barnehagen.
fremmer medvirkning for alle barn i barnehagen. | |
dc.description.abstract | In 1989, the UN adopted a separate convention on the rights of the child as fundamental
human rights. This convention also applies to children with special needs. The main
objective has been to look at how children's right to participate is made visible to
kindergarten children with special needs, as well as to identify and create an overview of
literature written on the topic. The issue that is being explored in the study is based on
what the last 10 years' research show about the participation of children with special
needs in their everyday life in kindergarten. To get an answer to the issue, I did a study
with literature search as a method. Based on the inclusion criteria and systematic
searches, the database is comprised of seven articles that were divided into categories A)
the kindergarten staff's perspective on participation and B) participation through
participation in kindergarten. The empiric has been analyzed in a thematic analysis,
based on a hermeneutic understanding. Five common themes were identified in the
analysis. 1) the importance of the adults' view of children, 2) power relations and the
adults' defining power, 3) the importance of the kindergarten environment, 4) the
professional competence of the kindergarten staff's and 5) the kindergarten staff's
complex dilemmas. Findings in the empirical data are interpreted in light of theory, and
my theoretical framework for this study is self- determination theory and social cognitive
learning theory. Overall, the themes may indicate that the adult's role is very central for
children with special needs to be able to participate in the kindergarten. At the same
time, the results suggest a predominance of the adults' descriptions. In this study, the
children's own voice appears marginalized. The findings indicate discrepancies between
the kindergarten staff's ideology, the children with special needs' preferences, and the
kindergarten's pedagogical practices. Furthermore, the results show a need for more
research that is based on the children's premises. The findings indicate that through
dialogue with the individual child, where the child's own ways of expression and needs
are emphasized and interpreted in line with the child's own intentions, it becomes
important to promote participation for children with special needs in kindergarten. A key
finding in this study is that the basic principles that promote participation for children
with special needs are the same principles that promote participation for all children in
kindergarten. | |
