dc.description.abstract | Denne bacheloroppgaven demonstrerer Julia Kristeva's konsept om det abjekte i tre korthistorier av Edgar Allan Poe: The Masque of the Red Death, The Fall of the House of Usher, og William Wilson. Den definerer først begrepet, for så å gå inn i tre separate analysekapitler sentrert rundt nærlesning, som belyser Poe's verk med den etablerte definisjonen av det abjekte som fundament.
dc.description.abstract | This bachelor's thesis demonstrates Julia Kristeva's concept of the abject in three short-stories by Edgar Allan Poe: The Masque of the Red Death, The Fall of the House of Usher, and William Wilson. It first defines the term, and then performs three separate analysis-chapters focused on close reading, which elucidate Poe's works using the established definition of the abject as foundation.
