Through a practical project, this bachelor thesis will develop a visualization solution for operational and financial figures for aquatic centres. The main point of the task is to develop a solution that can contribute to more sustainable operation among the members of Foreningen Badelandene. The development process differs from ordinary development processes as it is developed for an association with loose organization and limited financial resources. In the development, there was a focus on addressing the specific requirements set by the client who laid down guidelines for the solution regarding costs, ease of use, data security and usefulness for the members.
The project is based on user-centered and iterative development of a solution based on a freely available tool, with user testing on four respondents which was used to ensure quality and evaluate the solution's ease of use. The thesis has a theoretical basis related to sustainability, development method, interaction design, Business Intelligence, and user testing.
Through the discussion and the empirical results, we have presented our procedure and any advantages and disadvantages of this. We believe that the solution will be used by the client and contribute to more sustainable operation among the members of Foreningen Badelandene. We see the bachelor thesis as a good starting point for others who will develop a similar solution in the future.
