An Introduction to Copula Theory

Abstract

Målet med denne oppgaven er å gi en kortfattet introduksjon til en gruppe funksjoner kalt copulaer. En betydelig del av oppgaven er avsatt til å forstå og bevise Sklars teorem. Resten av oppgaven presenterer andre grunnleggende konsepter og egenskaper som er relevante for studier av copulaer.

The goal of this thesis is to give a brief introduction to a class of functions called copulas. A major part of the thesis is devoted to understanding and proving Sklar's theorem. The remainder of the thesis presents other basic concepts and properties that are relevant to the studies of copulas.
