Abstract

Denne oppgaven handler om hvordan man kan forstå noen elevers erfaringer og innsikter i seksualitetsundervisning i sammenheng med intimt og seksuelt medborgerskap. Det teoretiske grunnlaget for oppgaven basert på intimt og seksuelt medborgerskap, og blir fremstilt via seksuelle rettigheter. Det blir også tatt opp forskning knyttet til vold og seksuelle overgrep, og hvordan man kan jobbe med dette i skolen.

Datainnsamlingen besto av 10 semistrukturerte intervju av elever som hadde deltatt i en ukes seksualitetsundervisning i uke 6. Intervjuene er analysert tematisk etter hva elevene kunne fortelle om arbeid med grenser, grensesetting, overgrep og kjønn- og seksualitetsmangfold. Elevenes evne til å ivareta seksuelle rettigheter i intervjuene har noen samfunnsmessige spørsmål knyttet til seg som handler om intimt og seksuelt medborgerskap. Forekomsten av seksuelle overgrep, diskriminering, andregjøring og respekt for mangfold er blant de utfordringene man som samfunn kan stå overfor. Disse elevenes erfaringer og innsikter viser hva slags konsekvenser seksualitetsundervisning kan ha for samfunnsmessige spørsmål og utfordringer, og hvordan dette kan påvirke elevenes kapasitet til å ivareta og utøve rettigheter. Derfor er kunnskap, hva det er rom til å snakke om og hvordan man evner å snakke om det viktig.

Denne oppgaven gir et innblikk i viktigheten av en helhetlig seksualitetsundervisning, for å kunne danne grunnlag for intimt og seksuelt medborgerskap, slik at elevene blir i stand til å utøve og kjempe for seksuelle rettigheter. Denne oppgaven kan ikke generaliseres til alle undervisningssituasjoner eller arbeid med seksualitetsundervisning, men belyser hvordan arbeid med grenser, overgrep og kjønn- og seksualitetsmangfold kan gi elever økt kompetanse innen intimt og seksuelt medborgerskap.

This thesis is about how to understand some students' experiences and insights into sexuality education in the context of intimate and sexual citizenship. The theoretical basis for the thesis is based on intimate and sexual citizenship and is presented through sexual rights. Research is also being conducted on violence and sexual abuse, and how to work on this in school.

The data collection consisted of 10 semi-structured interviews of students who had participated in one week of sexuality education in week 6. The interviews were analyzed thematically according to what the students could tell about work with boundaries, setting boundaries, abuse and gender and sexuality diversity.

The students' ability to equip knowledge and the skills to maintain sexual rights in the interviews has some social issues related to them that are about intimate and sexual citizenship. The prevalence of sexual abuse, discrimination, other government and respect for diversity are among the challenges that society can face. These students’ experiences and insights show what kind of consequences sexuality education can have on societal issues and challenges, and how this can affect students' capacity to protect and exercise rights. Therefore, knowledge, what there is room to talk about and how to talk about it is important.

This assignment provides an insight into the importance of a comprehensive sexuality education, in order to form the basis for intimate and sexual citizenship, enabling students to exercise and fight for sexual rights. This thesis cannot be generalized to all teaching situations or work on sexuality education, but illustrates how working with boundaries, abuse and gender and sexuality diversity can give students increased competence in intimate and sexual citizenship.
