The purpose of this thesis is to investigate whether young home buyers prioritize environmental housing attributes when they are considering buying a house. Furthermore we want to investigate the willingness to pay for these attributes, as well as how our selected population emphasized these environmental attributes up against the more traditional housing attributes. The population of this thesis is people from the age of 20 till 35, who are looking to buy a house. Our survey was a digital questionnaire conducted via “surveylegend”.
The conclusion was that the population of the thesis emphasized the environmental housing attributes relatively low relative to the traditional ones. Furthermore, the results from the conjoint-analysis showed that prize estimate was the most important attribute on an aggregated level. Additionally, respondents with a high level of consumer responsibility care more about the environmental housing attributes than people with lower levels. Finally we can see that there is a difference between men and women when it comes to environmental housing attributes
