Talemålsvariasjon i Vinje kommune - Analyse av fire informantars ytringar

Abstract

Denne oppgåva skal analysere ytringar produserte av to eldre og to yngre informantar. Ytringane er gjorde opptak av, og alle informantane er oppvaksne i Vinje kommune. Frå dataa som resulterer frå kvar informant, skal eit utval bli samla under åtte variablar, som vil bli jamført individuelt og informantane imellom, samt med eldre skildringar av områdets mål, frå 1821 og 1906. Ved å gjera dette får ein tverrsnitt av målet frå ulike tider, og kan undersøkje kva som har eller ikkje har endra seg, og kva for variasjon som finst blant talemålsbrukarane for kvar variabel under tidspunktet for opptaka. I tillegg får kvar informant ein «dialektscore», som syner kor stor prosent av variablane som blei ytra med tradisjonell form. Sjølv om verken talemålsskildringane eller informantopptaka kan gjeva eit fullstendig bilete av talemålet i Vinje kommune under kjeldenes respektive tider, freistar eg likevel å kunne oppdaga visse mønster, samt peike på moglege utviklingslinjer i vinjemålet. Eg vil altså undersøkje mogleg variasjon i talemålet til fire informantar frå Vinje, ved å setje opp målmerke karakteristiske for vinjemålet i variablar, og sjå om formene som dukkar opp samsvarar med korleis vinjemålet er skildra i litteraturen. Ved eventuelle ulikskapar vil eg freiste å trekkje fram moglege påverknadsfaktorar for kva som har forårsaka ulikskapen.

This assignment will analyse speech produced by two elderly and two young informants. The speech has been recorded, and all informants have grown up in Vinje municipality. From the data resulting from each informant, a selection will be formed as eight variables, that will be compared individually and between the informants, as well as with earlier depictions of the area's speech, from 1821 and 1906. Doing this results in transections of the variety from different times, and you can investigate what has or has not changed, and what kind of variation that exists among the informants, for each variable, during the time of the recordings. Each informant also gets a "dialect score", that shows the percentage of traditional forms for each variable. Even though earlier depictions and the informants' recorded speech can't give a complete description of how speech in Vinje municipality is, during the sources' respective times, it might reveal certain patterns and development for "vinjemålet". The goal is to look for possible variation in the speech of four informants from Vinje, by presenting certain traits characteristic for "vinjemålet" as different variables, and see if the results match the earlier depictions. If there are differences I will try to present possible influence factors that may have caused them.
