The task for this Master thesis is to investigate location-aware trust/reputationmanagement system for online social networks.Social networking Services (SNS) are online platforms for social interactionsover the Internet, linking people together across political, economic,and geographic borders.Social networking sites can reflect users pre-existing physical world ,social relations and networks or be used to build new networks and relationsamong users (strangers) with common interests, encouraging usersto create interest groups and share personal information, ideas, activities,events and media. [19,31]The evolution of the internet, mobile devices and various social networkingapplications with location based capabilities has changed the waypeople interact and transact.The Web we are experiencing today is a product of several billion contributionspublished by different people around the globe. Blog entries andcomments, online discussions and reviews, organized online bookmarks,video clips, online news reportings, tutorials and other educational materials,e-books, e-commerce and electronic service provisions, are just someof the user generated contents on the web. With the enormous crowd participation in and contributions to the onlinenetworks and communities a lot of problems and challenges about thetrustworthiness of the users and the available contents has grown. Onlinereputation systems offer an efficient solution to problems of trust and trustbased decisions.
