Antenna Design for a Formula Student Race Car
Abstract
This Thesis addresses the design for an antenna array specified for a phased array radio from Radionor Communications that are to be used on Revolve NTNUs 2018 Formula Student race car. The resulting array is a design based on four monopole antennas in a planar configuration with an individual spacing of 22mm. The measurements show good correlation with simulation results for the radiation pattern, whilst the return loss does not correspond to measured values. The antennas fulfill the specification to such a degree that they can be implemented on Revolve NTNUs next race car.
