B radio, a digital replacement of FM radio, coverage is expanding. Receiver design using radio amateur equipment hasn't been much explored. This master's thesis explores the use of a DVB-T dongle, GNU Radio and a simple homemade antenna for DAB reception. A simple dipole antenna was constructed with a length of 0.655 m, this for receiving DAB signals at a frequency of 229.072 MHz. The DAB spectrum received by the DVB-T dongle and the homemade antenna was explored and the bandwidth was found to be 1.53 MHz, which corresponds to the theoretical DAB bandwidth. A DAB receiver was implemented in GNU Radio, where most of the blocks were made from scratch using Python and/or C++. Blocks consisted of: synchronization, sampler, frequency correction, phasor equalizer, pilot remover, deinterleaver and QPSK demodulator. Some of these blocks were evaluated using quality assuring codes and other were evaluated by inspected input and output relationships. The DAB receiver was according to the analysis found to be operating as expected.en
