Changes and adaptations of the Norwegian Total Contract 2007 - The Follo Line Project
Abstract
Norwegian Total Contract 2007 (NTK 07) is a extensively applied contract standard for oil & gas industry. Currently this standard is applied for the Norwegian biggest infrastructure investment The Follo Line Project. Some adaptations and changes have been implemented in the standard for the purposes of this project. The main purpose of this study is to summarize all these changes and adaptations. Data for this study were obtained through cooperation and interviews with the project Client Representative (Norwegian Railway Administration no: Jernbaneverket). There is no much study in this area so far.
The thesis starts with short dissertation on available experience in Norwegian Tunneling regarding contracting. Further short presentation of the NTK 07 contract standard, its evolution and motivates its suitability for the project are given. Further the Follo Line Project is introduced. Later all changes and adaptations implemented in the standard are described and reasons for that changes are given.
In conclusion the thesis indicates that most of the standard is not changed. Special provisions regarding oil exploration are deleted since they are irrelevant. Some additional provisions typical for tunneling project are included regarding e.g. soil conditions, TBM ownership, rail traffic. The client can benefit from this study for the future application of NTK 07 to the infrastructure sector, especially follow up of Follo Line Project The Intercity Project.
