NYHETSMEDIENES FRAMSTILLING AV DIGITAL MOBBING OG TILTAK

Abstract

I denne bacheloroppgaven undersøker jeg hvordan digital mobbing og tiltak blir omtalt i Aftenposten, Dagbladet og VG fra 2015 til 2019, som er de største nyhetsmediene i Norge. Metoden vil være en kvalitativ innholdsanalyse, hvor jeg undersøker ni av disse artiklene. Jeg ser nærmere på hvordan digital mobbing og tiltak blir framstilt i media, og bruker interessante funn herfra til å videre analysere, drøfte og diskutere. Hovedfunnene fra artiklene viser at mange av utfordringene handler om foreldres manglende engasjement og negativ holdning til barns nettbruk, men flere av tiltakene er rettet mot dette. Jeg vil også se nærmere på tiltak mot digital mobbing som er rettet mot barn, foreldres håndtering og skolens håndtering. Diskusjonsdelen tar hovedsakelig for seg beslaglegging av mobiler i skolen, barns opplevelse av mobbing og problematisering av hvordan mobbing defineres.

In this bachelor thesis I seek to investigate how cyberbullying and the measures against it are featured in Aftenposten, Dagbladet and VG from 2015 to 2019, which are the largest Norwegian newspapers. The method I have used for this, is a qualitative content analysis that examine nine of these articles. I take a closer look at how cyberbullying and the measures against it are portrayed in the Norwegian media, and use interesting findings to further analyse and discuss. The main findings from the articles reveal that the issues are often related to the parents missing engagement and lack of positive attitude towards children’s Internet use, however many of the measures are directed toward this. I will also look closer at the measures against cyberbullying that are directed towards children, parent’s handling and the school’s handling. The discussion part of this thesis will primarily be aimed at the school’s banning of mobile phones, children’s experience of bullying and problematizing how bullying is defined.
