Development of a new algorithm for measurement of fatigue and stress in steel
Abstract
A study is done on the transient phase of a voltage signal resulting from a current regulated four point probe measurement on steel plates. Some electromagnetic theory is developed, including a study of the effects of stress and fatigue on the elecromagnetic properties of ferromagnetic materials. A tool for modelling electric circuits is presented, and then modified in order to approach Maxwell's equations. This is used to implement a three-dimensional model, and the results are compared to experimental results.
