dc.description.abstract | In this Thesis, I have presented a new model, which, to the best of my knowledge, has never been studied before. The Burridge-Knopoff--Pad model combines the plain Burridge-Knopoff model with a resonating mass. The model was developed, implemented and analyzed. Findings show that, while more study is needed, results differ. Thus, a first few steps have been taken in order to fully understand the features of the model. While the model in this Thesis is applied in the context of brake squeal, it can be applied to any structure involving friction and structural vibrations. | |
