dc.description.abstract | It is now quite common to use different types of image modalities such as ultrasound and MRI in the practise of medicine. However, the different modalities require experience and practice.
A study of the potential behind the idea of a mobile application was made
as a part of a master-thesis in the spring of 2015. The mobile application prototype, Nerve Blocker,
was nearly finished.
Later, in the fall, a pre-thesis project finished the application and evaluated its potential for covering other procedures. The project concluded that the application was not a good starting point for a generalized application, and suggested that a new web application would be a better solution.
The conclusion of the pre-thesis project has been evaluated and as suggested, the web application called Medical Imaging Interpretation Games has been developed. Through user testing, the application showed to be a promising tool for teaching different types of procedures using different image modalities.
A framework for adding content and creating solutions was also developed and implemented into the web application, making it possible to add new and remove existing content. | |
