dc.description.abstract | Satellite systems utilize bandpass filters with steep slopes at the edges of the passband, to maximize the usage of the available spectrum. This results in induced group delay and severe degradation in system performance. In this thesis, a DVB-S2 system model has been implemented in software. Simulations have been performed to investigate the potential performance degradation caused by satellite bandpass filters. Linear optimum and adaptive pre-equalizers have been implemented to assess the potential in correcting the induced group delay. The linear optimum pre-equalizer displayed good performance both in simulations with and without additive white Gaussian noise. | nb_NO |
