ENGELSK: Purpose
The study we conducted was to find out about the use of Lean tools and philosophy it in the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA)'s hall control, and whether it is possible to implement Lean in practice. This focus on Lean's new in the NPRA
Method
We have used a qualitative approach to the problem; the information is obtained by observing and performing interviews. 33 interviews and observations was conducted, 14 in Gjøvik and 19 in Hafslund. Before we got started with data collections we held meetings at Gjøvik and Hafslund. The reason for these meetings was to secure data with good reliability and validity
Summary SummarySummarySummary
We have mapped the entire process from the customer's first encounter with NPRA to the customer leave again. This means that the Lean philosophy has been lit since it was posted vacant hours, the inspector meets the customer, performs the control with associated procedures. Systems with bottlenecks and unnecessary movements are found in the analysis.
The project have presented NPRA measures, these measures will make NPRA better equipped in future to change direction, do something about their cultures and create an organization that has continuous improvement as a value.
It is also described challenges with a change and the introduction of Lean philosophy in NPRA.
