Abstract

Ragnhild Jølsen var en norsk forfatter fra slutten av 1800- og begynnelsen av 1900-tallet. Hennes roman "Rikka Gan" (1904) er kjent for sin symbolske dybde, som gir innsikt i hovedpersonen Rikka Torsens indre kamper. Denne oppgaven undersøker de dypere betydningene i romanen gjennom allegoriene, spesielt hvordan omgivelsene skildrer Rikkas emosjonelle og psykologiske tilstand. Romanen kombinerer nyromantikkens mystikk og realismens skildring av bygdelivets realiteter. Nyromantikken og realismen er sentrale i Jølsens verk, med realistiske skildringer av sosiale forhold og nyromantiske elementer som Rikkas tiltrekning til naturen. Jølsen bruker symbolikk for å utforske menneskets indre verden og komplekse følelser, samt forholdet mellom individ og samfunn.
