dc.description.abstract | It is possible to observe similar overarching themes when comparing H. G. Wells and Olaf Stapledon's speculative evolutionary works in regard to 20th century authors' view on the future and man's place in it. This thesis explores to what degree their speculations can be considered logically true and compares the authors in order to understand how the time period they lived in can have influenced their understanding of the future.
