Sammendrag
Denne masteroppgaven er en autoetnografisk undersøkelse som ser nærmere på opplevelser med dysleksi og kunst og håndverk. Med en kreativ utforming av teksten er hensikten å inkludere personer utenfor akademia og personer med dysleksi inn i teksten.Problemstillingen er: Hvordan oppleves det å ha dysleksi, og hvordan kan kunst og håndverk bidra til å gi motivasjon og selvtillit hos elever med dysleksi. Og forskingsspørsmålet er: Hvordan kan jeg skrive akademiske tekster som er mer visuelle og inkluderende. Med en autoetnografisk, arts-based og artografisk tilnærming har oppgaven et kreativt spillerom som utnyttes med tegning, narrativer og tegnedagbok som forskningsmetoder. Som dyslektiker selv ser forfatteren på erfaringer og opplevelser med dysleksi og kunst og håndverk. Oppgaven tar for seg teorier om dysleksi, hjelpemidler, motivasjon, coping strategier, stigma, tegning og kunst og håndverk. Forskningen trekker sammenhenger mellom forfatterens erfaringer, teori og tidligere forskning. Gjennom tegninger og en multimodal tekst skapes det en dypere forståelse av oppgavens tema og teori.Nøkkelord: dysleksi, kunst og håndverk, autoetnografi, tegnedagbok. This master's thesis is an autoethnographic investigation that examines experiences with dyslexia and arts and crafts. With a creative approach to the text, the aim is to include individuals outside academia and those with dyslexia into the text.The main research question is: How does it feel to have dyslexia, and how can arts and crafts contribute to motivation and self-confidence in students with dyslexia? Additionally, the inquiry focuses on the question: How can I write academic texts that are more visual and inclusive?With an autoethnographic, arts-based, and a/r/tographic approach, the thesis explores creative ways of meaning making through drawing, narratives, and a drawing journal as research methods. As a person with dyslexia, the author reflects on personal experiences with dyslexia and arts and crafts.The thesis addresses theories on dyslexia, assistive tools, motivation, coping strategies, stigma, drawing, and arts and crafts. The research draws connections between the author's experiences, theory, and previous studies. Through drawings and a multimodal text, a deeper understanding of the thesis's themes and theories is achieved.Keywords: dyslexia, arts and crafts, autoethnography, drawing journal
