Abstract

Denne oppgaven undersøker hvordan intertekstuelle elementer brukes i Erlend Loes roman Doppler for å utforske forholdet mellom fiksjon og virkelighet, samt karakterens indre reise. Ved å analysere referanser til ulike eksplisitte og implisitte intertekstuelle element viser oppgaven hvordan disse litterære verkene forsterker tematikken om fremmedgjøring, søken etter mening, og tilknytning til naturen. Det blir også utforsket referanser fra filosofi og religion. Sentrale teorier av Julia Kristeva, Mikhail Bakhtin og Roland Barthes blir brukt for å underbygge analysen.

This thesis examines how intertextual elements are used in Erlend Loe's novel Doppler to explore the relationship between fiction and reality, as well as the character's inner journey. By analyzing references to various explicit and implicit intertextual elements, the thesis demonstrates how these literary works reinforce themes of alienation, the search for meaning, and connection to nature. References from philosophy and religion are also explored. Central theories by Julia Kristeva, Mikhail Bakhtin, and Roland Barthes are employed to support the analysis.
