dc.description.abstract | Studien betrakter pragmatiske grunnlag for subjektellipse, i digital skriftlig kommunikasjon
forekomsten. | |
dc.description.abstract | The study examines pragmatic foundations for subject ellipsis, in digital written
communication in Norwegian, based on relevance theory and cognitive pragmatics. Unlike
synthetic languages like Romanian, which have a more complex grammatical infrastructure,
Norwegian largely relies on pragmatic factors such as context and inference for understanding
ellipses. The focus of the study is on pronominal ellipses and when they occur, and how well
we can explain these based on Deirdre Wilson and Dan Sperber's relevance theory. The data
in the study is a collection of conversations from personal relationships. The analysis looks at
the impact of both sentence constructions and adjacency pairs on ellipses, as well as whether
grammatical complexity has any influence on their occurrence. | |
