dc.description.abstract | Kongsberg Maritime, a leader in maritime technology, required new insights in monitoring solutions for their K-IMS system in offshore environments. Their requirements included identifying unauthorized access, detecting unwanted behaviour and ensuring robust logging during connectivity disruptions at sea. In response, we developed an extensive research paper that details a theoretical framework for enhancing network and device monitoring tailored to their specific needs. Our approach encompasses systematic research and comparison of state-of-the-art security tools, assessing their capabilities and the extent to which they fulfil specified requirements. The main contribution of this thesis is a comprehensive and resilient monitoring solution that significantly enhances the operational efficiency and security of maritime vessels.
