Spesifikt ble to forskjellige
dc.description.abstract | This master thesis focuses on the development of a comprehensive multibody simulation
for a formula student race car. The simulation model was created using the Altair environ-
ment, with a strong emphasis on achieving high accuracy in system modeling. Notably,
the suspension, tyres, aerodynamics, powertrain, and driver were meticulously incorpo-
rated into the simulation model.
A key aspect of this research was the configurability of the model, allowing for the uti-
lization of both constant nominal parameters and variable parameters for conducting pa-
rameter studies. By implementing this approach, the effects of weight and suspension
stiffness variations on the vehicle’s behaviour were extensively investigated. Specifically,
two different suspension stiffnesses were analysed, encompassing both toe and camber
adjustments.
Through the conducted parameter study, valuable insights were obtained regarding the
influence of weight and suspension stiffnesses on the race car’s performance and handling
characteristics. This research contributes to the optimization and enhancement of formula
student race cars by providing a deeper understanding of the relationships between these
key design factors.
Overall, this master thesis presents a robust multibody simulation framework for for-
mula student race cars, allowing for accurate modelling and analysis of complex dynamic
events. The findings and methodologies presented herein serve as a valuable resource for
future race car design and development endeavours.
