Sammendrag
Denne oppgaven har til hensikt å belyse problemstillingen; Hvilke erfaringer og perspektiver har fem PP – rådgivere om henvisning og kartlegging av flerspråklige elever med ulike kulturelle bakgrunner i noen grunnskoler? Oppgaven utforsker skjæringspunktet mellom spesialpedagogikk og flerkulturell kompetanse, med fokus på hvordan PP – tjenesten kan møte behovene til flerspråklige elever og bidra til en inkluderende opplæring.
Masteroppgaven har en kvalitativ tilnærming og baserer seg på gjennomføringen av kvalitativt intervju. For å samle datamateriell ble det gjennomført intervjuer med fem erfarne PP – rådgivere. Informantene har variert bakgrunn og erfaring, og de har delt sine perspektiver basert på deres tidligere erfaringer og refleksjoner. Gjennom funn og drøfting har oppgaven avdekket perspektiver og utfordringer. Kontekstuelle faktorer som oppholdstid, traumer, tidligere skoleerfaring og språk ble identifisert som vesentlige for elevenes læring og utvikling. Språkkompetanse og flerspråklig utvikling ble diskutert som utfordrende områder i skolen, og behovet for flerspråklig kompetanse i PP – tjenesten ble understreket.
Oppgaven konkluderer med at det er nødvendig for økt bevissthet og kunnskap om flerspråklige elever i det spesialpedagogiske feltet. PP – rådgivere bør ha flerspråklig kompetanse og kunne ta hensyn til kulturelle og språklig bakgrunn i henvisnings og kartleggingsprosessen. Gjennom oppgavens funn og drøfting har den bidratt til økt forståelse av hvordan PP – tjenesten kan møte behovene til flerspråklige elever og bidra til en inkluderende skole for alle. This thesis aims to shed light on the issue; What experiences and perspectives do five Educational and Psychological Counselling Service – advisors (Norwegian: PPT) have regarding the referral and mapping of multilingual students with different cultural backgrounds in some Norwegian primary schools? The assignment explores the intersection between special pedagogy and multicultural competence, focusing on how the PPT can meet the needs of multilingual students and contribute to inclusive education.
The thesis has a qualitative approach based on a qualitative interview. To collect data material, five different experienced PP advisers were interviewed. The informants have different backgrounds and experiences. Thus, they shared their perspectives based on their experiences and thoughts. Through findings and discussion, the thesis has revealed perspectives and challenges. Contextual factors such as length of stay, trauma, previous school experience, and language were essential for the children's learning and development. Language competence and multilingual development were discussed as challenging areas in the school, and the need for multilingual competence in the PPT was emphasized.
The paper concludes that there is a need for increased awareness and knowledge of multilingual students in special education. Advisors should have multilingual competence and be able to consider cultural and linguistic backgrounds in the referral and mapping process. The thesis' findings and discussion it has contributed to an increased understanding of how the PPT can meet the needs of multilingual students and contribute to an inclusive school for all.
