Bustadnamn i Møsstrond sokn

Abstract

Til denne oppgåva har eg samla inn og analysert bustadnamn frå landområda attmed Møsvatn i Vinje kommune. Eg har au inkludert stølsnamn, då stølar har mellombels busetnad. Datamaterialet består av både skriftlege kjelder, slik som tidlegare innsamlingar, kart og andre dokument der bustadnamna førekjem, og munnlege kjelder, som eg sjølv samla inn då eg besøkte området og intervjua fleire lokale. Oppgåva skal, lik anna toponymisk forsking, innehalde skrivemåtar, den lokale nedervde uttala, kartfesting og eventuelle andre relevante opplysningar om dei einskilde bustadnamna. Men ho skal au seia noko om kva for oppfatningar informantane har til dei ulike skrivemåtane/uttaleformene og korleis tilhøvet mellom proprium og appellativ syner seg i det lokale talemålet.

In this master’s thesis I have gathered and analysed residence names from the area around Møsvatn in Vinje municipality. This includes summer mountain pasture names, since these have temporary residency. The data material has been collected from written sources, like previously gathered material, maps and documents, as well as oral sources, gathered by me after interviewing locals. Like other toponymic research this thesis includes written forms, local inherited pronunciation, placements on map and other relevant information about each residence name. But it also briefly explores how the informants perceive the written and oral names and how the relationship between proper nouns and common nouns reveals itself in light of the local variety.
