Et dypdykk i Riemann zetafunksjonens maksimum på 1-linjen: Innsikter fra Winston Heaps artikkel

Abstract

I denne oppgaven skal jeg se på Winston Heaps artikkel "A note on the maximum of the Riemann zeta function on the 1-line". Jeg skal forsøksvis gi en dypere og mer detaljert forklaring på hva som kobler maksimumet av Riemann zeta-funksjonen på 1-linjen sammen med antall nullpunkter i den samme funksjonen opp til en høyde t. I begynnelsen av oppgaven vil jeg gå over relevant notasjon, deretter noen grunnleggende definisjoner og teoremer innen tallteori og kompleks analyse som er nødvendig for å forstå Heaps artikkel. Videre vil jeg gå grundig gjennom Heaps artikkel og forsøke fylle inn der jeg mener det finnes mangler. Avslutningsvis vil jeg reflektere over hva Heaps artikkel egentlig forteller oss, samt gi forslag til videre arbeid innen temaet.
