Tittel Tidlig identifisering av sepsis

Bakgrunn Sepsis er et økende problem, både i Norge og resten av verden. I Norge regner en med at det er ca. 7000 tilfeller av sepsis årlig. Sykdommen er den vanligste dødsårsaken i intensivavdelinger.

Hensikt Hensikten med denne oppgaven er å se på sykepleierens rolle i tidlig identifisering av sepsis, samt å se på de ulike kartleggingsverktøyene som er tatt i bruk, og de ulike faktorene som spiller inn.

Metode Denne oppgaven er en litteraturstudie som er basert på 8 utvalgte forskningsartikler. Denne litteraturstudien vil være rettet mot både kvantitativ og kvalitativ forskning.

Resultat Resultatet av litteraturstudien har 4 hovedtemaer som viser hva som påvirker sykepleierens arbeid i tidlig identifisere sepsis. (1) sykepleierens funksjon og ansvar, (2) klinisk kunnskap og kompetanse, (3) bruk av kartleggingsverktøy og (4) organisatorisk forhold.

Konklusjon For å kunne identifisere sepsis tidlig som mulig, er sykepleier nød til å ha evne til å se ansvar i sykepleierens rolle, kunnskap om sepsis, samt bruk av screeningsverktøy, god observasjonskompetanse og klinisk innblikk, og evne til å jobbe tverrfaglig.

Abstract

Title Early identification of sepsis

Background Sepsis is a growing problem, both in Norway and the rest of the world. In Norway, expect that there are approx. 7,000 cases of sepsis annually. The disease is the most common cause of death in intensive care units.

Aim The purpose of this thesis is to look at the nurse's role in the early identification of sepsis, as well as to look at the various screening tools that have been used, and the various factors that influence.

Method This thesis is a literature study which is based on 8 research articles. This literature study will be aimed at both quantitative and qualitative research.

Result The result of the literature study has 4 main themes that show what affects the nurse's role in early identification of sepsis. (1) the nurse's function and responsibility, (2) clinical knowledge and competence, (3) use of screening tools and (4) organizational conditions.

Conclusion To early identify sepsis as a nurse you need to have the ability to see responsibility in the nurse's role, knowledge of sepsis, as well as the use of screening tools, good observation skills and clinical insight, and the ability to work multidisciplinary.
