This bachelor's thesis has investigated the cause of mental challenges that students at NTNU Gjøvik encounter during their studies, and to what extent NTNU contributes as a health-promoting university. The project is carried out as a final project for Interaction Design at the Department of Design at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Gjøvik. The initiative for the project arose when the group wanted to explore students' mental health, factors that influenced it, and the student's experience of care at the university. Based on our own experiences from student life, the commitment to explore the background of poor mental health and lack of life quality promoted are desire to explore this topic. Our employer, Anne Skoglund at the Department of Health Sciences, was included because of her area of expertise within health and her ongoing PhD thesis that deals with similar topics, which is relevant to the project's purpose. To be able to design a facilitation for healthier mental health for students, we have looked at how NTNU as a university facilitates mental health services, so that the period of the study can seem less burdensome and increase the students' well-being and quality of life. Throughout the project, design methods have been used to develop a concept to improve the students' well-being, and described in detail how the project group came forth with the solution «Mitt Sit – A design for a health-promoting university».
