Materialgjenvinning av plastleker og blandet plast

Abstract

I Norge har vi et stort forbruk. For flere av avfallstypene, som barneleker og blandet plast, finnes det ingen gjenvinningsordning. Dette innebærer at det blir brent på et forbrenningsanlegg og ressursene forsvinner. Dette er ikke tråd med den sirkulære økonomien som skal etterstrebes. I denne oppgaven er det gjort beregninger om det er finansielt lønnsomt å bygge og drive et gjenvinningsanlegg for blandet plast hvor plasten er hentet fra Gjøviksområdet eller Innlandet. Deretter er det sett på klimaavtrykket som gjenvinningsanlegget har kontra gjenvinningsanlegget. Sistnevnte er gjort med et program for miljøanalyser, SimaPro. Konklusjonen av oppgaven er at det er verdt å investere i gjenvinningsanlegg for blandet plast gitt at det samles inn plast fra hele Innlandet. Dette vil være en relativt robust investering, særlig hvis det planlegges for drift i minst 15år. Når det gjelder miljøpåvirkningen så er også denne lavere for gjenvinning enn for forbrenning fra første gang plasten gjenvinnes.

We have a large consumption in Norway. For several waste types, such as children’s toys and mixed plastic, there is no solution for recycling. This means that it is burned in an incineration plant and the resources disappear. This is not in line with the circular economy that should be pursued.

In this thesis, calculations have been made as to whether it is financially profitable to build and operate a recycling plant for mixed plastics, where the plastic is collected from either the Gjøvik-area or the Innlandet county. Next, the climate footprint of the recycling process is looked at. Then the results are compared to incinerations plan. This are done with the program for environmental analysis, SimaPro.

The conclusion of this thesis, is that it is worth investing in recycling facilities for mixed plastic, given that plastics are collected from all over Innlandet. As for the environmental impact, this is also lower for recycling then for incineration from the first time the plastic is recycled.
