Ein veg til forståing: Intertekstualitet i Riksvegen Vestover

Abstract

Denne bacheloroppgåva utforskar korleis intertekstualiteten i Kjartan Fløgstad si novelle «Riksvegen Vestover» verkar inn på lesaren. Ved å analysere novella tar oppgåva for seg korleis referansar, sitat og andre intertekstuelle element er med på å forme lesarens oppfatning av teksten og er med på å gjere så lesaren kan sjå djupare meiningar ved novella. Gjennom analyse av dei intertekstuelle tilfella i novella viser oppgåva korleis forfattaren brukar eit spekter av handlingar innanfor Morgan Kane-bøkene for å gje novella ei djupare meining. Resultata av analysen viser korleis forskjellige menneske kan sjå på novella ut frå kor mykje av Morgan Kane dei kjenner til frå før av og kva dette kan tilføre novella «Riksvegen Vestover».

This thesis explores how intertextuality in Kjartan Fløgstad’s short story «Riksvegen Vestover» affects the reader. By analyzing the short story, the thesis considers how references, quatations and other intertextual elements helps shape the readers’s perception of the short story and how it might help the reader see a deeper mening to the story. Through the analysis of the intertextual cases, the thesis looks at how the author uses a range of actions similar to the ones you see in the Morgan Kane books to give the short story a deeper mening. The results of the analysis shows how different people can look at the short story based on how much knowledge they have on Morgan Kane beforehand, and what this knowledge, or lack of knowledge can do to the understanding «Riksvegen Vestover».
