Intertekstualitet i Frode Gryttens Popsongar

Abstract

I denne bacheloroppgaven har jeg gjennomført en analyse av Frode Gryttens novellesamling Popsongar, utgitt i 2001. Analysen tar utgangspunkt i følgende problemstilling: Hvordan kommer intertekstuelle referanser til uttrykk i Frode Gryttens Popsongar? Fokuset ligger på hvordan forfatteren benytter seg av intertekstuelle referanser, både implisitte og eksplisitte, og hvordan dette gir verket en ny dimensjon, utover de konkrete historiene vi får presentert. For å besvare disse spørsmålene har jeg presentert og analysert intertekstuelle funn i et utvalg av novellene, henholdsvis Nygift, Drømmekraft og Fantomteikning, sett i lys av Julia Kristevas teori om intertekstualitet og Roland Barthes’ teori om populærkultur. I drøftingen har jeg også argumentert for hvorfor leserens egne tekstuelle og kulturelle bakgrunn vil påvirke resepsjonen av Gryttens verk, og hvordan den enkelte leser derfor vil kunne oppfatte de intertekstuelle referansene ulikt.

In this bachelor’s thesis, I have conducted an analysis of the short story collection Popsongar by Frode Grytten, published in 2001. The analysis is based on the following question: How are intertextual references expressed in Frode Grytten’s Popsongar? I have focused on how the author makes use of intertextual references, both implicit and explicit, and how this adds a new dimension to the collection, beyond the concrete stories we are presented with. To answer these questions, I have presented and analyzed intertextual findings in a selection of the short stories, respectively Nygift, Drømmekraft and Fantomteikning, based on Julia Kristeva’s theory of intertextuality and Roland Barthes’s theory of popular culture. I have also discussed how the reader’s own textual and cultural background will affect the reception of Grytten’s work, and how the individual reader therefore may perceive the intertextual references differently.
