Mulighetsrom i den ugraderte applikasjonen "Forsvaret Rapp"

Abstract

Denne rapporten er avsluttende bacheloroppgave ved NTNU i det nettbaserte studiet ITBAINFO: Informatikk med spesialisering i informasjonsbehandling. Rapporten tar utgangspunkt i kunnskap tilegnet gjennom studiet med hovedvekt på brukersentrert utvikling, informasjonssikkerhetsstyring og digital strategi. Arbeidet bygger på problemstillingen: Er den ugraderte applikasjonen «Forsvaret Rapp» optimalt utformet, og hvilken effekt og risiko gir applikasjonen i et digitalt sikkerhets- og strategiperspektiv?

Ved kvalitative metoder som innholdsanalyse og semistrukturerte intervjuer innenfor områdene utforming, digital sikkerhet og digital strategi, studeres mulighetsrommet til applikasjonen. Garretts femlagsmodell benyttes som et overordnet rammeverk for å skape en strukturert oversikt over disse områdene. Dette bidrar i sin tur til et godt underbygget svar på problemstillingen.

Kort oppsummert viser resultatet at det eksisterer et mulighetsrom for applikasjonen «Forsvaret Rapp», men dårlig utforming og manglende funksjonalitet bidrar til en negativ innvirkning på strategiplanet. Den manglende funksjonaliteten bidrar samtidig til at behovet for sikkerhets- og personverntiltak er lite nødvendig all den tid brukerdata ikke håndteres av applikasjonen. I sum betyr dette at applikasjonen har behov for vesentlige endringer for å ha livets rett da den i sin nåværende form virker mot sin hensikt – å bidra til rapportering av uønskede hendelser.

This report is the final bachelor's thesis at NTNU in the online study ITBAINFO: Information Technology with specialization in Information Management. The report is based on knowledge acquired through the course with the main emphasis on user-centered design, information security management and digital strategy. The work is based on the problem: Is the unclassified application «Forsvaret Rapp» optimally designed, and what effect and risk does the application provide in a digital security and strategy perspective?

Using qualitative research methods such as content analysis and semi-structured interviews in the areas of design, digital security and digital strategy, the possibilities for the application are studied. Garrett's five planes model is used as an overall framework to create a structured overview of these areas. This in turn contributes to a well-founded answer to the problem.

To summarize, the result shows that there is room for improvements for the «Forsvaret Rapp» application, but poor design and lack of functionality contribute to a negative impact on the strategy plane. The lack of functionality also contributes to the fact that the need for security and privacy measures is not necessary as long as userdata is not handled by the application. In short, this means that the application needs significant changes to have the right to life as it works against its purpose in its current form – to encourage the reporting of unwanted incidents.
