Abstract
In this bachelor's thesis, I investigate whether there is provenance in the private archive of Kristen Borgar Eik-Nes art collection regarding his donated collection at Trondheim Art Museum. His art collection was donated to Trondhjems Kunstforening in 1992. The collection was of a larger size and contained a variety of unique artifacts from South America, Asia and North America. He also had a large collection of paintings, some of which were by famous artists such as Håkon Bleken, Jacob Weideman, Pablo Picasso and Diego Rivera. But it was especially the pre-Columbian objects in his collection that caught my interest, since provenance is such an important and current topic both within the museum sector, antique dealers, and private collectors. The thesis is largely based on literature, archival material and interviews.
