Hvordan har containertransporten blitt påvirket som følge av pandemi og politisk uro?

Abstract

I denne oppgaven ble det gjennomført en forskning på hvordan containertransporten har blitt påvirket som følge av pandemi og politisk uro. Dette ble forsket på ettersom bransjen står i to viktige historiske hendelser som føre til store påvirkninger. Videre mener jeg at det er viktig å både dokumentere og forske på påvirkningene, nettopp for å ta kunne ta lærdom fra dette mot en eventuell fremtidig krise som skulle oppstå, samt kunne kartlegge hvor stor påvirkningene har vært. Oppgavens formål blir altså å kartlegge og analysere påvirkninger som har oppstått som følge av pandemi og politisk uro.

Tittelen på oppgaven og problemstillingen er det samme, og er følgende: «Hvordan har containertransporten blitt påvirket som følge av pandemi og politisk uro?» For å svare på gitt problemstilling har det blitt sett på temaer som global handel og transport, logistikk i kjedeperspektiv, om containertransporten, virkningen av pandemi og politisk uro for container transporten og til slutt shipping syklusen. For å kunne sammenligne gitt teori med hvordan bransjen har erfart påvirkningene, ble det gjennomført en kvantitativ forskning i form av spørreundersøkelse og kvalitativ forskning i form av dybdeintervju.

Konklusjonen til gitt problemstilling er at containertransporten har blitt påvirket ved at forsyningskjeden har tydelig blitt endret som følge av pandemi og politisk uro, og at markedet er på vei inn mot en kollaps ettersom tilbudet og etterspørselen har sunket. Det konkluderes videre med at det har skjedd store påvirkninger for containertransporten som følge av pandemien, men at politisk uro har ikke ledet til særlige store påvirkninger.

The thesis is devoted to study how has the container transport been affected because of the pandemic Covid-19 and political unrest such as the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. This research study was done as the industry is currently involved in two important historical events, that can have major impacts for the industry.

Furthermore, I believe that those two historical events are important to both document and research the impacts on, to be able to learn from it to an any future crisis that should arise, as well as to be able to structure how big the impacts have been. The purpose for this assignment will therefore be to structure and analyze the impacts that have arisen due to the pandemic Covid-19 and the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

The title of this task, and the problem is the same, and are: “How has the container transport been affected as a result of pandemic and political unrest?” To be able to answer the given problem, topics such as global trade and transport, logistics in chain perspective, about the container transport, and the shipping cycle have been looked at. To compare given theory with how the industry have been impacted, was it completed a quantitative survey and qualitative survey.

The conclusion to the given problem is that the container transport has been affected by the fact that the supply chain has clearly changed because of the pandemic and political unrest, due to that the market is headed towards a collapse as the supply and demand have decreased. It is further concluded that there have been major impacts on the container transport because of the pandemic, but political unrest has not led to particularly major impacts.
