Partizipation an der Urteilsfindung anhand von Ferdinand von Schirachs Gerichtsdrama Terror

Abstract

Ferdinand von Schirachs rettsdrama Terror (2015) behandler et aktuelt politisk og etisk dilemma, hvor tilskuerne blir tildelt rollen som dommere og må ta stilling til skyldspørsmålet. Denne masteroppgaven undersøker hvordan stykket tematiserer og muliggjør deltakelse – og hvilket potensial teateret har som demokratisk arena. Oppgaven tilhører det tverrfaglige forskningsfeltet Rett og litteratur og har flere teoretiske innfallsvinkler, med et gjennomgående litteratursosiologisk perspektiv. Det estetiske, deltakende eksperimentet i Terror avsluttes ikke når teppet faller, men åpner i etterkant opp for nye refleksjoner og diskusjoner i det offentlige ordskiftet om rettsvesen og demokrati. Stykket viser dermed hvordan litteratur med politiske og filosofiske dimensjoner kan krysse grensen mellom fiksjon og virkelighet og bidra til å styrke samfunnsdebatten.

Ferdinand von Schirach’s court drama Terror deals with a current political and ethical dilemma, where the audience is assigned the role of judge and must decide on the question of guilt. This master’s thesis examines how the play thematizes and enables participation – and what potential the theater has as a democratic arena. The thesis belongs to the interdisciplinary research field of Law and Literature and has several theoretical approaches, with a consistent literary sociological perspective. The aesthetic, participatory experiment in Terror does not end when the curtain falls, but afterwards opens new reflections and discussions in the public discourse on law and democracy. The play thus shows how literature with political and philosophical dimensions can cross the border between fiction and reality and contribute to strengthening the social debate.
