5G and the future of mobile network operato

Abstract

Målet med denne oppgaven var å forstå hvordan 5G endrer telekomindustrien.

Oppgaven gir en oversikt over teknologien som muliggjør noen av casene som vil bli diskutert. Det vil være en del teori om forretningsøkosystemer og måten telekomindustrien har utviklet seg gjennom de forskjellige generasjonene. Et 5G forretningsøkosystem vil bli presentert, og diskusjon rundt utfordringer og muligheter som mobilnettoperatøren vil møte vil finne sted. Oppgaven om hvordan rollen til en mobilnettoperatør vil endre seg med virkningen av 5G.

The goal of this thesis was to understand how 5G is changing the telecom industry. The thesis provides an overview of the technology which enables some of the use cases that will be discussed. There will be some theory about business ecosystem and the way the telecom industry has evolved over the different generations. A 5G business ecosystem will be presented, and discussion around challenges and opportunities that the mobile network operator will face will take place.
