Summary Background: The maritime industry has traditionally had little standardization compared with the aviation industry. Norled has a project that involves standardizing the bridges on its shuttle ferries. Research question: Has Norled managed to carry out the project with a standardized bridge system in the desired way and what is the user experience like for the navigator? Theory: Most of the theory is about Norled AS's bridge system. Pictures have been taken and explanations added to the various consoles to give the reader an overview of the bridge system. From literature, we have used a report from Studio Apertura that addresses challenges in designing bridges on high-speed crafts and Norvald Kjerstad's book, «Electronic and acoustic navigation systems». Method: In this study, both quantitative and qualitative methods have been used. The group has been on a ship visit, conducted an interview with the captain of MF Fodnes and sent out a questionnaire to the navigators who use Norled's bridge solution. Results: The results from the ship's visit and interview with the captain of MF Fodnes provided the guidance for the survey. During the ship visit the group became acquainted with the bridge system. A total of 19 participants responded to the survey. The findings from the survey, ship visit and the interview with the captain of MF Fodnes became the basis for the discussion. Conclusion: Through findings from the survey and the interview, there is a link between Norled's plan, and the results achieved. Some discrepancies have been identified without this affecting the overall picture. Standardization of the ship's bridge makes it easier for Norled to move crew internally on its vessels. The user experience of the bridge from the navigator's perspective ensures safety and provides good ergonomic conditions while being easy to operate. Norled has been receptive to feedback and software updates in the system have provided the opportunity to solve challenges that have emerged.
