Continuous change and new challenges mean that everyone must work together to create a better future, for ourselves and those who come after. To achieve the UN's sustainability goals, we must stand together and "leave no one behind". By having this worldview in mind, the thesis aims to look at the local community, and what a small community can do to stand together. Where the local bank helps to create vibrant local communities that promote well-being for the inhabitants, both now and for the future. The local bank is an active social actor in the local communities today, and the thesis looks at how the local bank can be more targeted by creating community values for everyone. This topic engages me and has therefore become the starting point for my master's study. Through a qualitative interview study, I wanted to examine the following research question: "How do relevant co-creation actors describe the local bank's role in promoting the citizens' well-being?". The committee consisted of eight relevant participants who have different connections to the local community and who also have a central role as citizens in the community.
The data material was analyzed using reflective thematic analysis, which resulted in the themes: (1) the local bank's role as a co-creation actor in the local community, (2) vibrant communities that create quality of life and co-creation, and (3) good indicators of well-being in the local community. On the basis of the study's theoretical framework: quality of life, matting, local communities and communities, relational welfare and co-creation, the study's three findings were discussed. The discussion highlights how the participants in the study described their views on the local bank and how they viewed the well-being in the local community today. The arguments based on the findings are that the local bank is important in the local community today, and helps to influence the well-being of the inhabitants through support schemes, credit decisions and as a co-creation actor.
