Hva innebærer medikamentfri behandling og hvordan jobber det tverrfaglige teamet, der sykepleier er inkludert?

Abstract

Hensikt: Med denne studien ønsker vi å undersøke hva medikamentfri behandling innebærer og hvordan det tverrfaglige teamet fungerer sammen. Samtidig vil vi sette søkelys på sykepleierens spesifikke oppgaver.

Bakgrunn: Så mange som 50% av den norske befolkningen rammes av en psykisk lidelse i løpet av livet. I 2015 kom regjeringen med nye retningslinjer innenfor behandling i psykisk helsevern. Pasientene skulle få fritt behandlingsvalg, deriblant muligheten til å velge medikamentfri behandling. Innenfor psykisk helsevern er det flere ulike profesjonsgrupper som arbeider sammen i tverrfaglig team.

Metode: Dette er en empirisk studie, hvor kvalitativ metode blir benyttet. Vi gjennomført et fokusgruppeintervju, og ett èn-til-èn intervju. Intervjuene ble transkribert og analysert ved bruk av systematisk tekstkondensering.

Resultat: Resultatet viser til at medikamentfri behandling er en behandlingsform som omhandler ulike behandlingstiltak uten å fokusere på medikamenter. Det heter medikamentfri behandling, men det er opp til hver enkelt pasient om de vil bruke psykofarmaka eller ikke. Resultatet viser at det tverrfaglige samarbeidet er vesentlig i gjennomføringen av et slikt behandlingstilbud. Hvor de ulike profesjonene bygger på hverandres kompetanse og erfaring.

Konklusjon: Medikamentfri behandling er en sammensatt behandlingsform, der det tverrfaglige teamet må jobbe godt sammen for å få en helhetlig behandling. Det innebærer at det tverrfaglige teamet må vise respekt, tillit og forståelse overfor hverandre. Sykepleier spiller en stor rolle i det tverrfaglige teamet til tross for at det er få spesifikke sykepleieoppgaver. De ulike profesjonene i det tverrfaglige teamet har mange av de samme arbeidsoppgavene til tross for deres ulike profesjoner.

Objective: In this thesis we want to examine what drugfree treatment is and how the interdisciplinary theme cooperates. We will also highlight the nurse’s specific tasks.

Background: As much as 50% of the Norwegian publications are suffering from a mental illness during their lives. The Norwegian government came with new guidelines towards the treatment within mental health in 2015. The patients were given the choice to choose between different types of treatment, including drugfree treatment. There are multiple professions who are working together in an interdisciplinary team in the psychiatric field.

Method: The thesis is an empirical study where a qualitative method is used in conducting a group interview and a one-on-one interview. The interviews were transcribed and analyzed using systematic text condensation.

Results: Through the analysis we identified that drugfree treatment is a form of treatment whitch concerns different treatment measures without any focus on the medications. Even though it is called drugfree treatment, every patient is able to choose whether they want to use psychopharmaceuticals or not. The result of the analysis also showed that the interdisciplinary theme is crucial in a treatment like this. The different professions are building on each other’s competence and experiences.

Conclusion: Drugfree treatment is a compound form of treatment, where the interdisciplinary teams have to work well together to get the holistic treatment. This involves that the team has to show respect, trust and understanding for each other. The nurse has an important role in the interdisciplinary team, even though there are not so many specific work tasks within the nursing profession. The workers of the interdisciplinary team have a lot of similar work task, even though they have different professions.
