Abstract

I denne bacheloroppgaven vil jeg ut ifra en litteraturanalyse diskutere hvorvidt det faglige skillet mellom arkivvitenskapen og historievitenskapen kan sies å ha påvirket identiteten til arkivprofesjonen. Med et fokus på midten av 1900-tallet har funnene presentert i denne oppgaven bekreftet at det historiske og arkivfaglige skillet har påvirket identiteten til profesjonen ved å tydeliggjøre profesjonens faglige selvstendighet, med et fagområde som i større grad enn tidligere har blitt uavhengig av historikernes krav og behov.

In this bachelor's thesis, I will discuss from a literature analysis whether the academic distinction between archival science and historical science can be said to have influenced the identity of the archival profession. With a focus on the middle of the 20th century, the findings presented in this paper have confirmed that the divide has influenced the identity of the archival profession by clarifying the professional independence of the profession, with a field of study that has become more independent than ever from the demands and needs of historians.
