Innkjøpsfunksjonen I Små Bedrifter

Abstract

I denne oppgaven ble det gjennomført en gjennomgang av innkjøpshåndteringen hos Offshore and Trawl Supply AS for å kunne gi tilbakemelding på om det som gjøres per i dag var det som blir anbefalt av litteratur og teori, eller om det var forbedringspotensial i innkjøpsfunksjonen og leverandørhåndteringen. Tittelen på oppgaven er «Innkjøpsfunksjonen I Små Bedrifter», og problemstillingen som har blitt utarbeidet er «Hva kan OTS forbedre i sine innkjøpsfunksjoner for å jobbe etter best practice?».

For å kunne svare på problemstillingen har det blitt sett nærmere på temaet innkjøp, og teorien som finnes per i dag for å både klassifisere og håndtere leverandørene, samt innkjøpsfunksjonens betydning for forskjellige bedrifter. For å kunne sammenligne det som kom fram av teorien med det som gjøres hos Offshore and Trawl Supply AS i dag, ble det gjennomført kvalitative intervju med en del av de ansatte som håndterer innkjøp til produksjonen. I tillegg ble det gjennomført ABC- og porteføljeanalyser på grunnlag av de omsetningstallene fra 2020.

Formål med oppgaven var å kunne gi konkrete anbefalinger til Offshore and Trawl Supply AS for hvordan innkjøpsfunksjonen kunne forbedres. Som et svar på denne oppgaven har det blitt konkludert med at klassifikasjonssystemet som brukes hos Offshore and Trawl Supply AS støttes av det som skal gjøres ifølge ABC- og porteføljeanalysen, og at selve leverandørhåndteringen dermed foregår i forhold til de prosedyrer som omtales som «best practice» i bransjen i dag. Selve innkjøpsfunksjonen kunne forbedres ved å enten ansette en enkelt innkjøpsansvarlig eller ved å iverksette noen tiltak som f.eks. en designert epostadresse til innkjøp og leverandørene. Allikevel kom det under intervjuene fram at det finnes en del utfordringer som krever litt mer fokus på innkjøpsstrategien framover i tiden, som f.eks. påvirkningen av kovid-19 restriksjoner og miljøansvar.

The thesis is devoted to studying the procurement function at Offshore and Trawl Supply AS and it aims to provide feedback on whether the routines and procedures that are in place today are up to best practice industry and literature standards. The title of this bachelor thesis is “Managing the procurement function in smaller companies” and the main problem is „What can OTS improve with their procurement function to work according to best practice? “. Hence, the purpose of this thesis was to assess whether there were things to improve in the procurement work at Offshore and Trawl Supply AS.

To answer this question and achieve the above-mentioned goal a closer look has been taken at procurement theory for both classifying and managing suppliers, as well as the significance of the procurement function for different companies. Interviews with the employees who handle procurement for production were conducted, in order to compare the routines and procedures that emerged from the literature study with what is done at Offshore and Trawl Supply AS today. In addition, ABC and portfolio analysis were performed to see how the suppliers were classified by Offshore and Trawl Supply AS.

The results of both quantitative and qualitative analyses showed that while the classification system is indeed up to industry and literature standards, there were a few answers in the interview phase that pointed towards some problems in the procurement function. In conclusion, while the classification system for the supplier base is up to standard, the challenges that both Covid-19 measurements and environmental concerns bring upon the procurement strategy at Offshore and Trawl Supply show that it would be recommended to have only one employee focusing mostly on procurement instead of most of the administration staff. For now, it has been recommended to set up an email address that is only to be used for procurement, and that can be accessed and used by all employees responsible for procurement work.
