| dc.description.abstract | I denne oppgåva har eg sett på oversettinga av kulturelle aspekt i Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone av J.K. Rowling, oversatt til norsk av Torstein Bugge Høverstad. Oversettingane har blitt analyserte ved hjelp av prosedyrene beskrive av Aixelá og sett inn i kategoriane foreignization og domestication som er beskrive av Venuti. Denne oversettinga vert også sett opp mot tidelegare studier som er gjort på oversettinga av denne boka til andre språk. Funna peiker mot eit overtal av domestication i denne oversettinga. | |
| dc.description.abstract | In this thesis I have looked at the translation of culture-specific items in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J.K. Rowling, translated into Norwegian by Torstein Bugge Høverstad. The translations have been analyzed using Aixelá's translational procedures and put into the categories foreignization and domestication that are described by Venuti. This translation is also compared with earlier studies that have been made concerning the translation of this book into other languages. The finds point to a slight tendency towards domestication in this translation. | |
