Abstract

Denne besvarelsen ønsker å undersøke hvordan det samiske språket og kulturen har blitt formet av fornorskningspolitikken som foregikk ved norske skoler. Oppgaven innledes med en historisk redegjørelse for hvordan skolen ble brukt til å utføre myndighetenes ordre, og hvordan undervisningssituasjonen ved de norske internatskolene foregikk. Deretter rettes søkelyset mot hvordan denne politikken og gjennomførelsen av internatskolen har formet det samiske språket og kulturen.

I andre del av besvarelsen belyses den nåværende samiske skolesituasjonen i Norge i lys av de historiske hendelsene som har blitt gjennomgått i første del av oppgaven. Denne redegjørelsen ønsker å belyse viktigheten av skolen, som institusjon, og lærerne i den samiske skolesituasjonen.

This answer seeks to investigate how the Sami language and culture have been shaped by the assimilation policy that took place at Norwegian schools. The thesis begins with a historical account of how the school was used to carry out the authorities' orders, and how the teaching situation at the Norwegian boarding schools took place, and how this policy and the implementation of the boarding school have shaped the Sami language and culture for many years to come

The second part of the answer sheds light on the current Sami school situation in Norway in light of the historical events that have been reviewed in the first part of the thesis. This part of the assignment wishes to explore the importance of the school as an institution og learning and the teachers role in the current sami school situation in Norway
