dc.description.abstract | This BA thesis provides an analysis of the 2013 film by Stiller and Conrad, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, as an adapted version of the 1939 original short story “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” by Thurber. As a film is, broadly speaking, reliant on both a formal and social context to form its shape, my main focus will be to investigate and analyse how Stiller and Conrad adapt “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” to suit both the formal context of film, as well as the social context of the 2010s.
