Opplæring i bruk av ERP - Workday i BDO

Abstract

Hensikten med denne oppgaven er å få et innblikk i hvordan en stor organisasjon har gått frem med tanke på opplæring av brukere i et ERP-system. Oppgaven presenterer teori omkring ERP-systemer og implementasjon av disse, vi gjennomgår også endel teori omkring «beste praksis» når det kommer til ERP-opplæring. Problemstillingen vi har benyttet i forskningen lyder som følger: I hvilken grad lykkes BDO med opplæringen av supportorganisasjonen knyttet til innføringen av Workday? Resultatene av denne studien bygger på et teoretisk grunnlag rundt innføringen av et nytt ERP-system og opplæring knyttet til denne innføringen. Videre bygger resultatene på empiri innsamlet ved bruk av kvalitative semistrukturerte intervjuer med representative grupper fra deltakerne av innføringsprosjektet. Konklusjonen fra dette arbeidet fremviser problematikken rundt denne innføringen og tar for seg sider fra både ledere og brukere under dette prosjektet. Det trekkes frem forskjeller mellom inntrykk og både positive og negative effekter som oppsto underveis. Vi knytter avgjørelser gjort under innføringen opp mot «beste praksiser» som er kommet frem via litteraturen.

The purpose of this thesis is to gain insight into how a large organization have proceeded with the training of users in a new ERP-system. The thesis presents theory surrounding ERP-systems and implementation of these, we also present theory surrounding «best practices» in relation to ERP-training. The thesis question we have used in our research is as follows: In what degree have BDO succeeded with the training of the support organization linked to the implementation of Workday? The findings of this study build upon a theoretical foundation surrounding the implementation of a new ERP-system and the training involved. The results further build on empirical data collected through qualitative semi structured interviews with representatives from both sides of the implementation-project. The conclusion of our research investigates the problems that arose with this implementation-project and addresses sides from both managers and users during this project. Differences between impressions, and both positive and negative effects that arose along the way are highlighted. Decisions done during the implementation are compared to «best practices» that emerged from the literature.
