dc.description.abstractBakgrunn: Ein reknar med at 5-6% av den vaksne befolkninga i Noreg har diabetes mellitus, og at førekomsten er aukande. Pasientar med type 2-diabetes utgjer den største gruppa diabetespasientar Hensikt: Hensikta med oppgåva er å tileigne kunnskap om pasientane si erfaring med å leve med sjukdomen, og korleis dei kan meistre kvardagen med diabetes mellitus type 2 Metode: Det har blitt utført eit systematisk litteraturstudie basert på åtte forskingsartiklar. Resultat: Pasientar med diabetes mellitus type 2 opplever eit stort behov for informasjon for å kunne mestre sjukdomen. Behovet for individuell oppfølging var viktig for pasientane, samt motivasjon og støtte. Pasientane opplevde skam knytt til sjukdomen. Konklusjon: Det å få god informasjon som er motiverande og støttande er viktig for pasienten. Støtte frå familie, helsepersonell og sosialt nettverk er motiverande for pasienten. God kunnskap og individuell oppfølging var sentralt for å kunne mestre kvardagen, og å unngå seinkomplikasjonar. Sjukepleiar spelar ei sentral rolle for mestringa.
dc.description.abstractBackground: 5-6% of the population in Norway has diabetes mellitus and the prevalence is increasing. Patients with type 2 diabetes make up the largest group of diabetes patients. Aim: The aim of the study is to acquire knowledge of the patients experience of living with the disease, and how they can cope with everyday life with diabetes mellitus type 2. Method: A systematic literature study has been conducted based on eight research articles. Result: Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus experience a great need for information to be able to cope with the disease. The need for individual follow-up was important for patients, as well as motivation and support. Patients experienced shame associated with the disease. Conclusion: Getting good information that is motivational and supportive is important to the patient. Support from family, healthcare professionals and friends is motivating to the patient. Good knowledge and individual follow-up were central to being able to master the disease, and to avoid secondary complications. Nurses play a central role in coping.
